Pharmacy DME Accreditation Exemption in Jeopardy

The Supreme Court will announce its decision on the constitutionality of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), aka ObamaCare, in late June. The finest minds and latest legal opinions suggest a repeal of Obamacare by the Supreme Court as a likely scenario. And a repeal of the law, means the repeal of the Pharmacy Exemption Clause that has allowed many independent pharmacies to apply for an exemption to DMEPOS accreditation. If the law is overturned, the requirement to be accredited in order to bill Medicare for DMEPOS is back in effect.
