DMEPOS Accreditation Services for Pharmacy
A pharmacy who wishes to enroll or maintain Medicare billing priviledges for DMEPOS products must comply with the new quality standards under Medicare Part B. Pharmacies are only exempt from accreditation if they meet all of the following criteria:
- Total billings by the pharmacy for DMEPOS are less than 5% of total pharmacy sales for previous 3 calendar years
- Pharmacy has been enrolled as a supplier of DMEPOS products and has been issued a provider number for at least 5 years
- No final adverse action has been imposed on the pharmacy in the past 5 years
- Pharmacy submits an attestation, as determined by CMS, that the pharmacy meets the first three criteria
- Pharmacy agrees to submit materials as requested during the course of an audit conducted on a random sample of pharmacies selected annually
The DMEPOS accreditation process has been confusing and time consuming up until now, but Network Accreditation Services, Inc. (NASI), has a leading, simple solution. Join our DMEPOS Accreditation Network and help ease your concerns regarding the DMEPOS accreditation process.
